XML Structures for Relational Data
نویسندگان
چکیده
XML is increasingly being adopted for information publishing on the World Wide Web. However, the underlying data is often stored in the relational databases. Some mechanism is needed to convert the relational data into XML data. In this work, we employ a semantically rich semistructured data model, the Object-RelationshipAttribute model for semistructured data, as a middleware to support the schema conversion from semantically enriched relational schema to XML Schema. This approach allows us to handle the translation of a set of related relations and to distinguish attributes of relationship types from attributes of object classes, multivalued attributes, and different types of relationships such as binary, n-ary, recursive and ISA. The resulting XML structures are able to reflect the inherent semantics and implicit structure in the underlying relational database. We also show that the appropriate use of references is able to avoid unnecessary redundancy and the proliferation of disconnected XML elements.

Apply Uncertainty in Document-Oriented Database (MongoDB) Using F-XML
As moving to big data world where data is increasing in unstructured way with high velocity, there is a need of data-store to store this bundle amount of data. Traditionally, relational databases are used which are now not compatible to handle this large amount of data, so it is needed to move on to non-relational data-stores. In the current study, we have proposed an extension of the Mongo...

متن کاملConv2XML: Relational Schema Conversion to XML Nested-Based Schema
Conversion of relational data to XML is a critical topic in the database area. This approach translates the rigid tabular structures of relational databases into hierarchical XML structures. Logical connections between bits of data depicted by relationships are represented more naturally by tree-like structures. Conv2XML and ConvRel are two algorithms for converting relational schema to XML Sch...
متن کاملManaging XML documents in object-relational databases
XML becomes the standard for the representation of structured and semi-structured data on the Web. Relational and object-relational database systems are a well understood technique for managing and querying such large sets of structured data. In our approach, the nested-relations data model is the basic model for representing XML data in object-relational database systems. Using the partitioned...
متن کاملNative XML Support in DB2 Universal Database
The major relational database systems have been providing XML support for several years, predominantly by mapping XML to existing concepts such as LOBs or (object-)relational tables. The limitations of these approaches are well known in research and industry. Thus, a forthcoming version of DB2 Universal Database® is enhanced with comprehensive native XML support. “Native“ means that XML documen...
